Ted Pritchard working on the S5000 in 2001
Uniflow Power Limited was incorporated in November 2009 with the specific purpose of acquiring all of the issued capital of Pritchard Power Systems Pty Ltd (PPS). The acquisition was completed in January 2010. PPS was incorporated in 2006 to build the latest advanced small steam engine designed by Ted Pritchard at the end of a long life of experimentation, scholarship and endeavor during which Ted designed and built several modern uniflow steam engines.
In the three years that it operated, PPS constructed and demonstrated the first prototype of the S5000 and progressed patent applications over two key elements of the Pritchard technology around the world. The shareholders of PPS unanimously voted to vend the company into Uniflow Power Limited and all of the shareholders of PPS have remained as shareholders of Uniflow Power.
